PANAJI: A collegiate of secretaries of the administrative, personnel and finance department has been approved by the state cabinet which will arrive at the number of recruitments to be made in each government department. The collegiate's decision will then be approved by an empowered committee headed by chief minister Manohar Parrikar.
This process of approval for posts will stand for one year and is an administrative reform which will fast track the recruitment process, Parrikar said.
Parrikar said that within a one-year period, it is expected that the requirement of personnel in all departments will be largely fulfilled. The first batch of posts are expected to receive the committee's approval by the first week of December, he said.
The chief minister said that presently the problems faced by government departments is that many posts have lapsed, and there is no sanction for them.
"The recruitment process which usually takes one-and-a-half years or two years can now be completed in 30 days, and even less in certain cases. So this is one major administrative reform. The process is expected to begin within the next 15 days," said Parrikar.
He added that the new process is expected to put an end to the current problems concerning hiring and delays in payment of salaries to some of the new recruits. "These problems are actually linked to government procedures which are being followed. All these problems will now be resolved," Parrikar said.
