BJP MLA Sanjay Patil has said that “it is not wrong to consider sending Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to Pakistan, as he had doubts about his religious affiliation.”

Speaking at a rally by Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal in Belagavi on Tuesday to protest against Tipu Sultan Jayanti, Mr. Patil said, “You say there is nothing wrong in celebrating Tipu Jayanti. Then we will say there is nothing wrong in sending you to Pakistan.”

“Why is Siddaramaiah adamant on celebrating the birth anniversary of Tipu Sultan? Does he not understand the sentiments of 80 per cent of Hindus in the State? Why did he start the Jayanti of Tipu who killed and converted lakhs of Hindus, when no one thought of it since Independence?” Mr. Patil, a leader of the Jain community, said.

He said that when Hindus become aware of the injustice being carried out by “communal and castiest politicians,” they would take to the sword. “I am ready to brandish the sword for the protection of Hindus,” he added.

VHP and Bajrang Dal leaders and BJP leaders were present.
