BHEL Q2 profit rises 18% YoY to Rs 118 crore

Engineering and manufacturing major BHEL on Tuesday reported a 17.53 per cent year-on-year (YoY) rise in net profit (total comprehensive income) at Rs 118.11 crore for September quarter, which fell short of Rs 168 crore estimated by analysts in an ETNow poll.
The company had reported a net profit of Rs 100.49 crore in the corresponding quarter of last year.
Net sales for the quarter dropped to Rs 6,118.36 crore from Rs 6,550.77 crore (Rs 6,780.03 crore income from operation) in the corresponding quarter of last year.
The company reported other income of Rs 485 crore in September quarter compared with Rs 196 crore in the same quarter a year-ago.
