Major reservoirs in Tirupati filled to brim

The roads at SV Nagar in Tirupati on Monday are flooded by heavy rain | Express

TIRUPATI:  Due to continuous rains, major reservoirs have started overflowing in and around Tirupati. Except Kalyani reservoir, all small, medium and major reservoirs have received good amount of water. The catchment area for Kalyani reservoir is Seshachalam hill ranges that form the rain shadow region of Tirumala.

Tirupati, Karakambadi, Renigunta, and the area between Renigunta and Railway Kodur received good rain and good flow to the tanks. Malle Madugu reservoir received good water and overflow has started and Sub-Collector Nishant Kumar visited Malle Madugu reservoir on Monday. Venkatapuram Tank was filed with water by Sunday and overflow started this morning.
