Hyundai Creta rival Renault Captur launched in India at INR 9.99 lakhs

Renault India has launched the much awaited Renault Captur in India with prices starting from INR 9.99 lakhs (ex-showroom) onwards.

The Renault Captur shares the same platform as the Duster. The engines are also similar to that of the Renault Duster. However, unlike the Duster, there are no automatic or AWD variants available yet. Renault Captur is powered by both diesel and petrol configurations in which the petrol variant is powered by a 1,498 cc H4K petrol engine producing 106 BHP @ 5600 RPM and max torque of 142 Nm @ 4000 RPM which is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission, While, the diesel variant is powered by a 1,461 cc K9K turbocharged diesel engine which produces 110 BHP @ 4000 RPM and peak torque is rated at 240 Nm @ 1750 RPM and is paired with a 6-speed manual transmission.

In terms of dimensions the Captur measures at 4,329 x 1,813 x 1,619 mm for length, width and height respectively. Running on 17″ Alloys shod with 215/60 R17 tyres with the wheelbase of 2,673 mm. Ground clearance is measured at 210mm with boot space of 392 L expandable upto 1,352 Litres. Captur comes with a 50L fuel tank for those long drives made easier with fewer fuel stops.

Features list for the Renault Captur goes along with key features like -C-shape Sapphire LED DRLs, LED headlamps, Floating LED turn indicators, Ripple Effect LED tail lamps, Automatic climate control, 17-inch Crystal Cut alloy wheels, ULC 3.0 multimedia navigation system with 7-inch touchscreen display, Push button start, ABS with EBD, Dual front airbags & side airbags, ESC, Hill Start Assist, Cruise Control, LED fog lamps with cornering function, Automatic headlamps, Rain sensing wipers, Infinity instrument cluster, Smart access card, ErgoDesign leather seats.

The Captur comes with various safety features like dual airbags, side airbags and antilock-braking system (ABS) with electronic brake distribution (EBD), among others. The company has also introduced an India exclusive top-spec variant called the Platine which offers a gold-white interior theme along with features like cruise control, rain sensing wipers and automatic headlamps and six airbags.

Renault Captur comes with lots of colour choices which include- Cayenne Orange, Pearl White, Planet Grey, Moonlight Silver, Mahogany Brown. Along with single shades, Renault will offer the Captur in Dual-Tone colour combinations to its customers for an extra cost of INR 17,000 and will only be available in RXT and Platine variants.
