BENGALURU: Seshadripuram police on Monday released Param and his friend Takur who had allegedly assaulted cab driver Jagadish, on station bail after interrogation. On Sunday night, Jagadish had picked up the passenger Param who had booked a cab from Hebbal junction. At end of the trip they abused each other for not stopping the trip at the drop location, which was not mentioned by Param.
A senior police officer said Param, a native of Himachal Pradesh and Takur of Delhi, work as security guards in an apartment in Guttahalli. “They said they were unable to understand Kannada and thus they forced him to speak Hindi. They had no intention to assault Jagadish. But since Jagadish abused Param, he called two of his friends and assaulted him. The duo were released on bail on Monday.”
“We learnt that Jagadish was communicating with Param in Kannada and asked him to get down at the drop location, which was mentioned by Param. But Param told the driver to drop him at his home. Takur hit his face while the friend called his owner to solve the issue. So we took action against both the accused,” the officer added.
