MADIKERI : The district administration denied permission for Parivartana rally of BJP  to enter district. The BJP  planned to organise  a meeting at Gandhi maidan in which former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa was to address a gathering on November 8.However, in wake of security arrangements for Tipu Jayanti, police department suggested BJP to organise their rally after November 10.

Speaking to mediapersons here on Monday, district BJP general secretary alleged that the State government was behind the denial of permission for the rally. He said despite State government’s conspiracy BJP will win both constituencies of the district.

District unit BJP president B B Bharatish said that  State government was forcibly celebrating Tipu Jayanti amid strong resistance from people. He alleged that Tipu was unjust to the people of the district and said Congress is celebrating his birth anniversary just for votes.

District BJP general secretary  S Ravi Kushalappa alleged that Congress was dividing people as more than 20 sangh parivar workers had been murdered during last 4 years in the state. He said the State government will be responsible if any untoward incident takes place during the Jayanti.
