HASSAN: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will re-open and probe all cases including those filed against the Karnataka chief minister Siddaramaiah in the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) if it comes to power in the next assembly elections, BJP state president BS Yeddyurappa said on Tuesday. Yeddyurappa was speaking to reporters ahead of the ‘Parivartana Yatre’ function.

Stating that the ACB had been formed only with the intent of registering false cases against rivals and to give a clean chit to Congress leaders, Yeddyurappa demanded that Siddaramaiah release a white paper on the financial status of the state soon. He further said that crores of rupees had been swindled in the guise of announcing schemes aimed at a particular community. Alleging that the caste census had been commissioned in order to divide the state on caste-based lines, Yeddyurappa also pointed out that the Government had failed to release the census report for which Rs 40 crore had been spent.

"The CM might have forgotten that the Congress leaders including All India Congress Committee (AICC) president Sonia Gandhi and vice president Rahul Gandhi have also got bail in different cases. BJP will observe anti-black money day on November 8," he said. On the topic of former minister Sogadu Shivanna's not attending the ‘parivartana’ rally, Yeddyurappa said that he would bring the matter to the notice of the high command for action.

Addressing a huge gathering at the rally, he promised to develop Hassan as a model district if elected to power. He asked the people to cast their vote for those who have worked for farmers and the poor and not based on caste lines. The Congress government and Siddaramaiah were also criticised by K S Eshwarappa, R Ashok and Shobha Karandlaje, who were present at the rally.
