Unidentified persons allegedly opened fire at a local promoter, who escaped unhurt, in Parnasree Pally area of Kolkata on Sunday night.

As per a complaint lodged by promoter Milan Chatterjee on Sunday at Parnashree police station, a few people had been screaming his name outside his house at around 8 pm on Sunday. He allegedly went to the balcony on the second floor of his house to see who they were, and came under fire from the unidentified persons. He managed to escape unhurt, said sources.

The police, on the other hand, said they are yet to verify if the incident occurred as they have been unable to find evidence to suggest a firing took place. Officials also said they would speak to neighbours to find out if anyone heard gunshots.

“We are probing the case from all possible angles. Apart from the local police station, the Anti-Rowdy section of Lalbazar too is investigating,” said Joint CP (Crime) Vishal Garg.
