NOIDA: The Noida Authority on Tuesday said it has issued notices to 103 private schools and 48 nursing homes and hospitals to adhere to land lease norms of the Authority. According to the lease deed norms, it is mandatory for schools and hospitals to provide free and subsidised services along with reserving seats for admissions. Anyone flouting these norms will be issued show cause notices and dealt with strictly, said officials.
According to Authority officials, children of farmers in Noida whose lands have been acquired by the government are supposed to have a quota of 10% reserved seats in private schools, who have been allotted land for constructing schools. If any school administration does not follow the directions, strict action will be on the cards including cancellation of lease deeds of those schools. "From now on, this clause will be implemented strictly at the time of allotment of land for setting up schools. This policy will be uniform. The aim is to provide a medium for children of the less privileged," an official explained.
Officials said the owners of hospitals and nursing homes who have been allotted land have to provide free OPD for two hours in the morning and evening for the EWS. They also have to reserve 10% beds for free and 15% at 50% cost for the EWS and farmers of Noida. All these sops are also to be displayed prominently on large boards at strategic locations within the premises of the hospitals.
A register has also to be maintained with details by the hospitals of patients to whom they have provided the facilities, officials said.
