New Delhi, Nov 7:
Net direct tax collections rose by 15.2 per cent to Rs 4.39 lakh crore between April and October this fiscal.
“This amounts to 44.8 per cent of the total Budget estimate of direct taxes of Rs 9.8 lakh crore for 2017-18,” said the Finance Ministry on Tuesday.
Gross collections (before adjusting for refunds) have increased by 10.7 per cent to 5.28 lakh crore during April-October 2017.
Refunds amounting to Rs 89,507 crore have been issued during April 2017 to October 2017.
