Ajmer: Body of a 27-year-old youth was found floating in Ajmer's Badi river on Tuesday. Police have sent the body for post-mortem and are investigating the matter.

The youth was depressed after his fiancee broke their engagement.

On the information of a passer-by, Ganj police went to the spot and took out the body from the river.

The deceased was identified as Vipin Sahu (27), resident of Foisagar road. He was an auto-driver by profession.

Sahu's parents told police that he left the house on Monday afternoon and did not return. The youth was spotted on Tuesday morning going towards the river by some spectators.

Police came to know that Sahu was engaged to a girl of his locality two months ago and was very happy. But last week, the girl's family broke the engagement. Even the girl refused to marry him. "He was in depression and, therefore, stopped talking to us. We tried to console him but in vain," a friend of the deceased told police. Earlier, Sahu had tried to hang himself but was unsuccessful. So, on Tuesday he took the extreme step.
