Designation recognizes products that bring improvements to the healthcare industry

Genesis Automation USA announced its supply traceability platform has received a 2017 Innovative Technology designation from Vizient, Inc., the largest member-driven healthcare performance improvement company in the country. The designation was based on direct feedback from hospital experts who interacted with Genesis Automation at the Vizient Innovative Technology Exchange in Denver on Sept. 14, 2017.

Genesis Automation’s supply traceability platform allows healthcare providers to improve the safety, quality, cost and traceability of supplies across the enterprise, enabling hospitals to stay competitive, improve profit margins and provide best-in-class care. By fully automating supply tracing in the hospital, Genesis releases clinical staff time from managing supplies to caring for patients, while achieving significant savings by fully automating the analysis of preference cards and providing the information needed to standardize the delivery of care.

“We are delighted with the Innovative Technology designation; the fact that it is awarded through a review process by healthcare experts reflects the need hospitals currently have for a platform such as Genesis,” says Guillermo Ramas, CEO of Genesis Automation USA. “Hospitals need to think and act strategically when deploying solutions to address patient safety, standardization of care, regulatory compliance and cost savings efficiencies. All of this can all be accomplished simultaneously while allowing clinical staff to dedicate less time to supply management and more time to patient care. We’re proud to be recognized for our unique capabilities in these areas.”

“After reviewing feedback on Genesis’s supply traceability platform at our Innovative Technology Exchange, members agreed this solution deserves the Innovative Technology designation status. The designation will be noted in our online member contract catalog. Congratulations to Genesis Automation on receiving this status,” said Debbie Archer, director of procurement and Vizient Innovative Technology Program lead.

Vizient represents a diverse membership base that includes academic medical centers, pediatric facilities, community hospitals, integrated health delivery networks and non-acute healthcare providers and represents more than $100 billion in annual purchasing volume. Through its Innovative Technology Program, Vizient works with member-led councils and task forces to review potentially innovative products. If it is determined that a product is innovative, Vizient may award a contract outside of the competitive bid cycle.
