24-year-old man shot by cousin in Pataudi

GURUGRAM: A 24 year-old youth was shot by his cousin in Uncha Majhra village of Pataudi on Sunday afternoon. He later succumbed to his injuries in the hospital.


Naval had left his house around 11.30 am when his neighbour called him to smoke hookah with him. He joined his neighbour and cousin Ajit to smoke hookah on the street.


According to police, after sometime Ajit got up and returned with a gun and shot twice at Naval's back. Hearing the gunshots, many people gathered and rushed Naval to Rockland hospital in Manesar, where he was declared brought died. Ajit has been booked under Sections 307 (attempt to murder) of IPC and sections 25, 54 and 59 of the Arms Act.


Surender Singh, SHO, Farrukhnagar police station, said, "it's not clear if the two had an argument while smoking or if it was a result of an old rivalry."
