The Panasonic Eluga A4 appears to be made out of metal, with the usual rounded corners sticking to Panasonic’s long-standing design philosophy, as seen on previous devices. The fingerprint reader sits at the back and so does the speaker grille, which may result in muffled audio when placed on a table or a couch.

Moving to hardware, the Eluga A4 features a 5.2-inch HD display with a 2.5 D glass screen to protect it. Inside, buyers will get a quad-core chipset, clocked at 1.25 GHz, coupled with 3 GB RAM and 32 GB of internal storage. The internal storage is expandable using microSD cards.

The device features a 13 MP primary camera with an LED flash at the rear and a 5 MP unit on the front.

Connectivity options include a 4G LTE bands, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and a microUSB port for data transfers and charging.

All of the above is powered by a 5,000 mAh battery, which is the USP of the smartphone. Also a part of the package is Android 7.0 Nougat, equipped with Panasonic’s proprietary assistant called ARBO.

Processor aside, the Eluga A4 does pack in a large battery, which challenges the Xiaomi camp. But the Eluga A4’s smaller RAM size and display resolution could see buyers heading for the latter.

Panasonic recently launched the Eluga Ray 500 and Eluga Ray 700 during the festival season with pricing starting from Rs 8,999. The Panasonic Eluga A4 is already available for sale both online and in stores.
