Minimum temperature around 12C till Saturday

PUNE: If you plan to head out in the night, make sure you keep a beanie handy. The night-time temperature just turned a little more nippy.

On Saturday, the city recorded a minimum temperature of 13 degree Celsius, which was about 2.8 degrees below normal for this time of year.

The met department has stated that residents of the city will continue to experience a chill during the night as the minimum temperature is likely to remain around 12 degree Celsius over the next few days.


Officials in the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said that clear skies could lead to a drop in minimum temperatures up to 12 degree Celsius. "Through the next few days, the sky will continue to remain clear. There is no disturbance in weather. The minimum temperature is unlikely to rise drastically," an IMD official said.


On Friday, the minimum temperature was recorded at 12.5 degree Celsius. The minimum temperature increased by 0.5 degrees on Saturday. The maximum temperature on Sunday was recorded at 30.2 degree Celsius. IMD's observatory at Lohegaon recorded minimum temperature of 14.9 degree Celsius on Sunday.


Besides Pune, the minimum temperature in other major cities across the state continued to remain below 15 degree Celsius. On Saturday, the lowest temperature was registered at 12.2 degree Celsius at Nashik while Osmanabad in Marathwada region recorded 12.5 degree Celsius. At Mahabaleshwar, the minimum temperature recorded stood at 14.2 degree Celsius.
