BJP Mahila Morcha national in-charge Daggubati Purandeswari on Sunday said inclusion of BJP women members in every booth-level committee was a must as per the directive of national party. She said that presence of women activists in each and every cadre would ensure wide publicity for the flagship programmes launched by the Narendra Modi government. She said the BJP would continue to strive to improve its network at grass-roots level in spite of having political alliance with Telugu Desam Party.
Along with BJP State president K. Haribabu, she attended as chief guest for the party activists’ meeting in Etcherla constituency of Srikakulam district. She asked Etcherla Assembly segment in-charge and party national executive committee member S.V. Sanyasi Rao to concentrate on remote and tribal areas.
“Each committee should have a couple of women members so that they would be able to campaign for BJP in villages. It certainly enhances the reputation of the party in Andhra Pradesh,” said Ms. Purandeswari.
Mr. Haribabu said that the party could appoint 28,000 booth-level committees in the last two years. “Our target is 42,000 both-level committees in Andhra Pradesh. We hope we will achieve the target as more number of people are being attracted towards BJP in all the 13 districts,” he added.
BJP State Kisan Morcha president Pudi Tirupati Rao, BJP secretary P. Venugopalam, party women wing leaders Sevvana Umamaheswari, G. Bhagya Lakshmi, youth wing leaders Pavan Sai, Suvvaru Rajesh Kumar and others said that the BJP would be a formidable force by 2019 elections in Srikakulam district too. They vowed to organise more meetings in rural areas too.
