Rifah Taskeen drives a lorry in front of the crowd in Mysuru on Sunday. Golden Book of World Records officials were present | UDAYASHANKAR S

MYSURU: Rifah Taskeen, a seven-year-old girl from the city, on Sunday created a ‘world record’ by driving 14 vehicles, ranging from a two-wheeler to a multi-axle lorry. The wonder kid drove the maximum number of multi-wheeled vehicles to etch her name in the Golden Book of World Records (GBWR). Santosh Agarwal, a record manager at GBWR, handed over the provisional certificate to Rifah, while the main certificate will be issued in another two weeks after vetting the details of the feat, including the number of vehicles. Prior to the record bid, an affidavit was collected from the Regional Transport Office (RTO) with the officials permitting the event on the responsibility of the parents, and after receiving a letter from the local MLA.

She is said to be the only girl in the world below 18 years of age to make a bid under the category -- Youngest to drive most kinds of multi-wheeled vehicles -- Agarwal told reporters. It’s just a matter of a few days when her name will find a mention on the official website of GBWR. The record winning feat will also be published in the 2018-19 edition of the annual magazine, Agarwal told Express. Elated over her successful feat, Rifah summed up her feelings in one word: “Great”. She wants to become a war pilot and wants to make it into the Indian Air Force (IAF), said her father Tajuddin, a former auto racer turned mechanic.
