The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has fielded Sukh Ram from Paonta Sahib Assembly constituency for the Himachal Pradesh Assembly elections 2017. In 2012 Himachal Pradesh elections, Sukh Ram had lost to independent candidate Kirnesh Jung by a slim margin of 790.
Paonta Sahib is one of the major industrial towns of Himachal Pradesh. It is located in the south of Sirmour district.
Sukh Ram is 52-years-old and a resident of Puruwala Tehsil in Sirmour district.
According to myneta.info, Ram has studied till class 12th and has done first year BA from Government Degree College, Nahan
His assets are worth over Rs two crore and has one criminal case against him.
