VADODARA: The Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) commissioner will be amongst officials who will be visiting Netherlands to participate in an urban innovation visit. A proposal in this regard has been put up before the standing committee of the civic body.

The formal nod has been sought from the standing committee to allow the commissioner to join the programme for selected senior officers from cities that are to be developed as smart cities. A similar nod has been sought for allowing the city engineer to visit Sweden for a study-cum-exposure visit for solid waste management functionaries.

The proposal clarifies that the visits will not burden the VMC in any way and the expenses will be borne by the state government.
