I know how much Aarohi loved colours, she would love to watch her mother make rangoli on Diwali. She had promised to make one all by herself on the next Diwali but little did we know then that our life would be turned upside down by the time the next Diwali came. It is here where she needs you the most.
It all started one day when her body temperature rose to 104 degrees and her body started to turn pale. We rushed her to the nearest hospital where the doctors, after the initial medication referred her to the city hospital. The doctors conducted several tests and diagnosed Aarohi with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, she was suffering from blood cancer. In an instant, our world collapsed and we found ourselves hanging in the middle of a storm. Our only hope now lies in the contributions of caring strangers through ketto.org.
Somehow we gathered ourselves and decided to collect as much information as we could about the disease. Armed with the knowledge and with the guidance of our doctors we decided on a course of treatment and our daughter was put on her first chemotherapy session.
To watch our child suffer through so many blood tests and chemotherapy treatments was very painful and difficult. Aarohi lost all her hair and developed multiple ulcers and spots on her entire body and face. There were times when we just wanted to take her home but we knew this was necessary, it was for her own good. The three chemotherapy sessions left her fragile and weak but it was unbelievable how the little one just faced all of it. Your contributions will help our angle get back to life.
At this point though my family faces a terrible situation. As a father and a son, I have many responsibilities. I work in Bisleri’s IT department and my pay is Rs. 40,000 per month. Being the sole earning member of the family, I have the responsibility of running my family, paying for my children’s education and taking care of my parents. After having spent Rs 7 lakh on my daughter’s treatment, I have absolutely nothing left to support the rest of her treatment.
We have started a fundraising page with Ketto.org in Aarohi's name, in the hope that people will come forward and help us raise the funds for this surgery.
According to the doctors, Aarohi has to undergo a bone marrow transplantation followed by a postoperative care routine for two years. The doctors are hopeful that this treatment will end her fight with the deadly disease forever. And to take Aarohi home we need another 15 lakh Rupees
Aarohi is a beautiful girl who wants to live, who wants to laugh and wants to be loved. And you can help to save this lovely child. Every donation, whether small or big, will make a lot of difference.
Thankfully, through all of this, we were surrounded by people who supported in every which way possible. We could come this far by the endless support from our relatives, office colleagues and even school friends. All we could raise from these donations have been completely utilized for her treatment.
