CHENNAI: Now it is out from the horse’s mouth: Actor Kamal Haasan is set to launch a political party. But it will be preceded by the launch of a mobile app.Speaking at an event held here on Sunday to mark the 39th anniversary of the ‘welfare club’ run by his fans, the actor said he would launch the mobile app on Tuesday (Nov 7)  to coincide with his 63rd birthday and through the technological device, he would keep in touch with his fans and all prospective supporters  and thereby raise funds for his proposed party.
However, Kamal did not commit himself to any particular date for the launch of his political party and hinted that it would require some more ground work.

Talking about the fund requirements for the party, he said he felt no shame in stretching out his hands to seek alms for the welfare of the Tamil people. He appealed to his fans not to celebrate his birthday on Tuesday, since it is “not time to cut a cake, but a day to cut canals.” He was referring to the inundation in several parts of the city after the current monsoon rains.Referring to the recent threat to him from a Hindu outfit for his comments on “Hindu terror”, Kamal said he would not remain silent like a “mridangam” (percussion instrument) hit repeatedly.

CM, Tharoor back Haasan
Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and Shashi Tharoor, MP have condemned the alleged death threat against veteran actor Kamal Haasan by a Hindu Mahasabha leader and demanded his arrest.
