Business advice An advice that has stayed with me is, “Think big, but work towards detailed execution till the last step”. Most people dream big, but don’t want to execute everything to the last point. I have taken this advice very seriously; I execute the plan without losing focus.
Tips for budding entrepreneurs Solve a problem that is a big issue for many customers rather than solving a problem you think exists. Meet your customers regularly, their problems change faster than the solution you think you have built. Your business needs to be more agile to meet customer needs.
Government support I believe the government is helping to create a congenial atmosphere for companies and businesses. Yes, things can be simpler, faster and less paper-oriented, but I think young entrepreneurs today can dream big and work towards building a new economy.
The right team You are only as good as your team. Only a strong team can enable seamless execution. I believe many are scared to hire strong team members for the fear of losing control. But if you don’t have team members who can work or execute plans independently, you can never be successful.
Inspiration I have drawn inspiration from many — from military generals who built strategies and executed wars to industry leaders. Working alongside Kishore Biyani has left an everlasting impression on my mind that has helped me to understand what customers want. I remember attending a great open session by Warren Buffet on how to choose businesses that can succeed.
The next step We have built our business on two pillars: speedy service to customers and tighter risk management. These have helped us in building one of the country’s fastest loan company with a strong business model. I think our next hyper growth would come from becoming a technology company that understands customers really well. We are investing all efforts into becoming a data and machine algorithm driven organisation that understands customers and risks much better, so we can help more people and serve our customers better from a very early age.
