46 houses damaged in two districts

ARIYALUR AND PERAMBALUR: At least 38 houses have been damaged in Ariyalur district and eight in Perambalur district. Since October 27, there have been at least 30 huts which have been partly damaged, two have been fully damaged, and there were damages to six pucca houses. Most of the damages were reported from Jayankondam taluk, which received 246.95 mm out of 413.33 mm of rainfall received in the past four days. The total amount of compensation and relief dispersed to the victims in Ariyalur is D,37,600 as of Sunday. In Perambalur, at least seven houses that have been partially damaged and one house that has been completely damaged in Kunnam and Alathur taluks. The owners are being compensated with 10 kg of rice, two litres of kerosene, two sets of dresses for the occupants.ENS
