Energy Minister D.K. Shivakumar is expected to make his seventh appearance before the Income Tax Department here on Monday, after he and his family were issued notice last week. Officials said the notices were issued as a part of the procedure.

Sources close to the Minister said he and his kin, including his mother, wife, daughter and brother, have been asked to appear before I-T sleuths at 11 a.m. “His wife appeared the last time via an auditor. But she has been asked to appear in person. The family will cooperate,” a source said.

In August, I-T sleuths carried out searches in nearly 60 premises in New Delhi, Bengaluru, Mysuru, Chennai, and Mr. Shivakumar’s hometown Kanakapura, on properties linked to the Minister and his brother D.K. Suresh, MP for Bengaluru Rural. Searches were also carried out at Eagleton resort on the outskirts of Bengaluru, where the Minister was staying with over 40 MLAs from Gujarat.

Later that month, I-T officials continued the probe into the disproportionate assets case against the Minister and conducted search and seizure operations against 10 individuals and firms linked to the Minister.
