Two including a DJ arrested for selling drugs online in Delhi

NEW DELHI: It is not very tough to order high-quality Cocaine and fine Marijuana in Delhi through online, all you need is an account to deal in Bitcoins and access to Deep web.

According to the Delhi police, there are websites in Deep web who supply drugs online. Crime Branch has busted a gang who used to supply contraband drugs to youths in the capital through online. The entire syndicate used to take payments in the form of Bitcoins - a worldwide currency system. Currently, one Bitcoin is costs more than INR 4.7 lakh.  Delhi Police have arrested two accused including a Disco Jockey and recovered 100 tablets which were allegedly packed for the deliveries.

“The interrogation revealed that in the ‘Deep Net’ there are sites where the drugs are available, further the payments are being received in ‘Bitcoins’. On payment of Indian rupees the equivalent amount of ‘Bitcoin’ is provided to the Deep Net market places through which payments can be made to procure the drugs,” DCP Crime Branch Rajesh Deo said.

According to the police, the kingpin is still at large but it has been found that he has a network spread across India. “Accused Kamal Kalra is a DJ and usually goes to rave parties and used to play music there. He came in contact with co- accused Mahesh Goyal, another accused through a rave party and started procuring Ecstasy from him and further supplying in rave parties,” Deo said.

Mahesh Goyal has told the police that while he was staying in Chennai, he had attended a party at a friend’s place where he had consumed Ecstasy for the first time and came to know further that such drugs could be obtained online.
