Rourkela: Denied home, man turns toilet into one

After denied home by the government, a man turned his toilet which was allotted to him under Swachh Bharat Mission into one in Odisha’s Rourkela. Chotu Rautia, a tribal has been living in the toilet from last several months. Rautia’s repeated requests for a house under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) bore no result, so he began living in the toilet. He said that he approached officials to get a house under the scheme but they never paid heed to his requests. Meanwhile, officials said he is not living inside the toilet but outdoors. He added that they will come to know after detailed report only as to why he was not allotted a home.
