BHUBANESWAR: The State BJP on Sunday lodged a complaint with Commissionerate Police against former Rajya Sabha member and president of Scheduled Caste Cell of the BJD Bishnu Charan Das for disclosing the identity of Sarispadar gang-rape victim.

A team of BJP leaders led by party’s State secretary, Dilip Mallick, lodged a complaint with Mahila police here and demanded action against Das for making the identity of the Sarispadar gang-rape victim public. Bhubaneswar DCP Satyabrata Bhoi said they have received the complaint and are looking into the allegations.

Das had earlier alleged that five Special Operations Group (SOG) personnel were involved in the incident which was revealed by the victim to him during his visit to Koraput a few days back. However, Koraput SP Kanwar Vishal Singh, had rejected the allegations and had asserted that there was no movement of SOG, CRPF, BSF or CoBRA jawans in Sarispadar area on that day.
