Torrent Power today posted a 129.5 per cent jump in its consolidated net profit to Rs 321.65 crore in the second quarter ended September 30, mainly on account of higher revenues.

The company's consolidated net profit for the quarter ended September 30, 2016, was Rs 140.17 crore, Torrent Power said in a BSE filing.

According to the statement, the total income rose to Rs 3,000.12 crore in the quarter from Rs 2,726.80 crore a year ago.

The company's consolidated net profit in April-September period was Rs 524.89 crore compared to Rs 186.56 crore in the same period last fiscal. Its consolidated net profit for the fiscal ended on March 31, 2017 stood at Rs 429.79 crore.

During April-September this year, the company's total income rose to Rs 6,094.57 crore as against Rs 5,366.26 crore in the corresponding period last year.

Its total income for the fiscal ended on March 31, 2017 was Rs 10,244.44 crore.
