KANPUR: A middle-aged couple was gored to death by a male buffalo in Billhaur area of the district on Saturday evening.
Ajay Pal (48) and his wife Anarkali (42) of Shivrajpur village sustained serious injuries after the animal attacked them when they had gone to feed it.
The two died on the spot.The buffalo ran away after being chased by the villa gers.SHO Billhaur Jaswant Singh reached the spot and conducted preliminary investigations.
The police shifted the bodies to mortuary after completing the proceedings.
"The forest department team is looking for the buffalo that had gone missing after killing the couple. An alert has been sounded and villagers have been asked to remain alert," SHO Billhaur added.
