Haryana Day celebrated in London

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar’s recorded message was also played during the function. Accoding to Ahlawat, the Haryana Day falls on November 1 but they organise such functions during the weekend only.

HARYANA IN UK Association celebrated Haryana Day in London-situated Indian High Commission on Friday. According to a press release issued by association president Kuldeep Ahlawat, the India’s acting High Commissioner to the UK, Dinesh K Patnaik, recognised the efforts of the association in bringing together the Haryanvi community. “Patnaik pointed out that first time ever in history Haryana Day is being celebrated in the Indian High Commission in any country. Minister for Coordination from High Commission of India, A S Rajan, who is head of all the Indian communities in UK, also lauded the efforts of the association for its role in celebrating India’s Independence Day function in UK every year by organising free langar,” Ahlawat mentioned in the press release.

On the occassion, association’s vice-presidents Sajjan Deswal, Parveen Rani and Lucky Mahajan spoke about Haryanavi culture. Association’s core group members Sajjan Singh, Sarla Chaudhry, Parveen Rani, Rinku Dhankhar, V P Singh, Anuraj Nandal, Kuldeep Kadian, Rinki Saini, Ashwani Kalkal, Manveer Dalal, Vivek Chaudhry, Rajender Dahiya, Amit Ahlawat, Manish Dahiya, Vinod Chillar, Praveen Dahiya and Dr Prahlad Pharroda were also present on the occasion.
