Man detained for slapping woman

HYDERABAD: Police detained a person for slapping a woman in SR Nagar police limits on Saturday. The woman works for a private firm and had refused his marriage proposal. The detained person has been identified as Govardhan. He claims to have been in a relationship with the woman for a few months. Govardhan proposed to the woman for marriage. However, the woman’s parents objected to the proposal,’’ said Sub Inspector Ajay Kumar. 

“The woman refused to talk and meet Govardhan when he called her over phone. Irate, Govardhan came to the victim’s office on Saturday and slapped her for not talking to him,’’ Sub Inspector said. 
The victim lodged a complaint with police. Based on complaint, police registered cases against Govardhan and detained him for questioning.
