Gurgaon: Haryana Police, Huda and MCG — the three state agencies have left the city residents a harried lot. This is evident if one takes a look at the number of complaints filed at the CM Window against these agencies, from the time of its inception (December 2014) till September 2017.
This revelation comes following an RTI filed by one Aseem Takyar. According to its reply, residents till September 2017 have complained against the police 2,746 times, against Huda 1,726 and against MCG 1,312 times. Launched as an initiative to address public grievances, the CM Window has emerged as one of the popular medium where the residents can file their complaints.
Concerned over increasing numbers of complaints related to Huda on CM Window and the delay in its resolution, the state government had directed the authority in July 2017 for early disposal of complaints. Till date, around 360 complaints against Huda are pending for resolution, most of which are related to encroachment.
"We usually try to resolve the complaints on priority basis. Most of the pending complaints are taking long due to the complexity of the issue," said a senior Huda official.
Asked about the increasing number of complaints related to Huda, the official said that till recently the authority was looking after the maintenance of a major part of the city. Several complaints were filed against them related to water and sewerage. "With the transfer of sectors and other civic services to GMDA, the complaints against Huda will see a dip," the official added.
The official, however, said no negligence and laxity would be tolerated in the matters related to redressal of CM window complaints. For delay, the head of the concerned department will have to explain. The increasing numbers of complaints on CM window is turning out to be a challenge for the government officials, he added.
