GORAKHPUR: Thirty children died at Baba Raghav Das (BRD) Medical College in Gorakhpur in 48 hours (from Wednesday midnight to Friday midnight). Of the total, 15 deaths took place in Neo Natal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and 15 in paediatrics intensive care unit (PICU) in the last 48 hours.
On Thursday, 25 patients were admitted to NICU while 66 children were admitted to PICU. In the last 24 hours (from Thursday midnight to Friday midnight) 10 children were admitted and 8 died in NICU while 36 children were admitted to PICU and 10 died. Last year, total 599 deaths were recorded, including casualties in NICU and PICU in the month of November.
