Seeking a CBI probe into the alleged Delhi Subordinate Services Selection Board (DSSSB) examination paper leak, Education Minister Manish Sisodia wrote to Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal demanding action against officers involved in it. Sisodia also alleged corruption in the teacher recruitment process.

On October 30, The Indian Express first reported that eight people had been arrested for allegedly leaking the paper, held for recruiting primary school teachers in MCD schools. The accused said a government employee, working as a physical training inspector, had lured them by promising Rs 2 lakh.

In his letter, Sisodia said the Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) has not taken any action against the DSSSB officers and that he wants the case transferred to the CBI. DSSSB conducts recruitment for most service positions in the Delhi government, and reports to the L-G.

Sisodia also demanded that the “officers involved in conducting the examination be suspended, so that they don’t destroy evidence”. The cases of corruption, which Sisodia highlighted in the letter, include, “numerous complaints of examination paper being leaked, papers being set from a single guide book and servers being down at the time when documents are to be uploaded”.

“While there have been instances of applicants being barred from the exam for cheating, no action has been taken against any senior officer in DSSSB. Strong action needs to be taken so as to give a clear message that the
L-G’s office is not protecting corruption within DSSSB,” he said.
