VARANASI: Senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader and former deputy Prime Minister Lal Krishna Advani offered prayer to Lord Shiva at Kashi Vishwanath temple on Sunday. He along with his daughter Pratibha Advani arrived here on Saturday to take part in Dev Deepawali celebration.
Before offering prayer at Kashi Vishwanath temple he spent some time at Khidkiya Ghat in the morning and watched the sun rise from the bank of Ganga. He also took morning tea at the ghat.
Earlier on Saturday evening, Advani celebrated his 90th birthday by lighting 90 earthen lamps at Kihidkiya Ghat on the occasion of Kartik Purnima, though his date of birth is November 8. Later, he took part in Dev Deepawali festival celebration at the Dashashwamedh Ghat.
