Drunk Audi driver injures Noida vendor

NOIDA: A food vendor was seriously injured after a speeding Audi A6 driven by a 35-year-old businessman hit him at Morna underpass on Thursday midnight. Shatrudhan (45) was rushed to a private hospital where doctors said both his legs were fractured.

The driver of the Audi, Rishi Khandelwal, a resident of Sector 50, was under the influence of alcohol when the accident occurred. He deals in the manufacturing of LED lights.


Ummed Singh, SHO, Sector 24 police station, said the accident took place at 12.30 am when the vendor was returning home. Khandelwal's speeding car came from the other side and hit the vendor, who was flung into air and fell at some distance. Shatrudhan suffered multiple fractures and head injury and was rushed to Satya Medical Centre in Sector 34.


The doctor at the medical centre said that both his legs were fractured. Shatrudhan, originally from Unnao, lives in a rented accommodation with his family in Chawda village in Sector 22.
