Senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader in Himachal Pradesh and its chief ministerial candidate Prem Kumar Dhumal on Friday addressed a number of rallies in support of his party’s candidates across the state.

He addressed rallies in Naina Devi, Jubbal and Kotkhai, Shimla Urban and Kusumpati.

He said the BJP, if it came to power, would not govern or administer the state like the incumbent Congress government, which saw the Chief Minister being busy in defending himself in corruption cases in various courts of the country and could not even prepare the DPR of various projects sanctioned by the Centre. “We would make the DPR and also construct the National Highways,” he said.

Mr. Dhumanl said the economic reforms undertaken by the Modi government had already started showing their results as the ease of doing business ranking for India had improved from 130 to 100. The GST reforms have also been acknowledged by the former President of India and the UPA Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee, he said, but the present Congress leadership has refused to accept and recognise this effort by the Modi government.

He also said that the Prime Minister was not answerable on every issue to the Congress party but was accountable to the general public who had voted him to power.
