‘CM must stick to word on services cadre’

| Nov 5, 2017, 03:30 IST
Panaji: Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) President Shantaram Naik said chief minister Manohar Parrikar should stick to his commitment to demand a separate All India Services Cadre for Goa and not make another U-turn on the issue now that he has again met central leaders on Thursday.

In a press statement issued on Saturday, Naik said Goa is an independent state, and despite its small size is entitled to a separate cadre, so the state government can issue directions and orders to officers, and in case of non-compliance place such officers under suspension or even dismiss them in extreme cases.
