Tiger Zinda Hai shot in the scorching heat of Abu Dhabi desert

Ali Abbas Zafar’s Tiger Zinda Hai is set to hit the screens on December 22.

From filming in the cold weather of Austria to the harsh climate of Liwa desert in Abu Dhabi, director Ali Abbas Zafar says his upcoming film Tiger Zinda Hai has been shot in extremely challenging weather conditions.

For a crucial sequence in the film, the action-thriller, starring superstar Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif, was shot at the Liwa desert. The recorded temperature on the days they shot was at 50-degree celsius, a statement said.

“Tiger Zinda Hai required a certain scale of the desert in the film and Liwa provided that. Temperatures were soaring and as we shot action sequences with a moving car here, the conditions were extremely challenging,” Ali Abbas Zafar said. He added that the film’s unit stood by the vision and added that “the local crew at Abu Dhabi was also very supportive”.

Talking about the film which is shot in five different countries the director has also said, “To meet the scale of the film, we had to travel to four different countries for different reasons. Certain landscapes needed to become a part of the film, so we had to go to Austria to get the snow-covered mountains. We also had to go to Morocco to feature crucial fight sequences of horseback riding. The country’s landscape and topography bring a certain texture to these sequences,” Zafar said in a statement.

Tiger Zinda Hai, which is slated to release on December 22, is a sequel to the 2012 spy thriller film Ek Tha Tiger. The much-awaited thriller film of the year features Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif in lead roles.
