Navi Mumbai: Members of the Maharashtra Swabhiman Party claimed to have seized 150 tonnes of beef from a cold storage unit in Vashi Mafco market on Saturday. But after a veterinary doctor verified that it was not cow meat, and checked the licences, the APMC police gave a clean chit to the unit’s owner, Rizwan Patel, inspector Prafulla Bhingarde said.
