Officials to send letters to them for development of alma mater

After seeking financial assistance from non-resident Telugus in America for implementation of the digitisation of classrooms in government-run schools in the State, the Chandrababu Naidu government has now embarked on ‘Badi runam teerchukundaam’ programme. The programme envisages participation of the alumni of different government schools across the 13 districts of the State in the development activity the government has taken up in the education sector.

On Friday, Principal Secretary, Education Department, Adityanath Das, said as part of the drive, he was writing letters to a few old students who were in high positions now, to contribute towards development of their alma mater.

Active participation

Speaking at his chamber in the Secretariat, Mr. Das said the government had decided to develop the education sector with active participation of the old students.

Stating that it was time to give back to one’s alma mater, he said District Education Officers and Project Directors of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan must ensure that at least 1 lakh letters were written to old students from their respective districts.

Each letter should clearly specify cell number 9515104820 pertaining to ‘Badi Runam Teerchukundam’, he said, adding that the advice and suggestions of the old students would be very valuable. He said he had written letters to the CID SP L. Kasidasu who was an old student of Government school, Dokiparru in Krishna district and a few others, asking them to contribute their mite in equipping their alma mater with new facilities.
