Oscar-winning sound designer Resul Pookutty makes acting debut

Oscar-winning sound designer Resul Pookutty is all set to make his acting debut with Prasad Prabhakaran's multilingual film. Resul who will play the role of a sound designer in the film will be seen living his real-dream of recording all the sounds in the famous Thrissur Pooram festival celebrated in Kerela.

Oscar-winning sound designer Resul Pookutty will soon be making his acting debut with a multilingual film. Directed by Prasad Prabhakar, the film will have Resul play a sound designer who wants to record all the sounds in world famous Thrissur Pooram festival. The project is produced by Rajeev Panakal of Palm Stone Multimedia.

Speaking about this, director Prasad Prabhakaran says, “It has been Resul Pookutty’s real-life dream to record the sounds of Pooram festival live. This movie is about a sound designer who wants to capture the sounds of this festival in his mike and record it. This movie is titled Oru Kadhai Sollattumaa. I am so proud Resul Pookutty chose this script to making his acting debut,”

The Pooram festival in Thrissur is the one of the biggest Kerala festivals attended by a million people every year. Spread over seven days in total, thousands of artists converge to perform at the festival. However, shooting for it was no easy feat says the director.

“We started planning and preparing meticulously four months before the shoot itself. Over 80 technicians from Hollywood and Bollywood have worked tirelessly in capturing the sounds of Pooram live for our movie. The camera team have captured over 300 live performing artists using 22 cameras. It will be a complete experience,” assures Prasad.

The music of the film has been scored by Rahul Raj and the lyrics were penned by Vairamuthu. This movie will release in four languages: Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu and Hindi. The songs and trailer have been edited by Antony and songs were recorded in AR Rahman’s studio. The audio rights of the movie have been bagged by Sony Music.
