Vir Das, who is still riding high on the success of his Netflix special Abroad Understanding, was recently a guest on Conan O’Brien’s talk show. Vir was there to let America know about the problems the rest of the world is facing. With his quick witted humour, Vir was simply hilarious in the segment. He managed to take a dig at Donald Trump, the Britishers and even gave the Americans some consolation on how they were not the only country in the world who is facing trouble, except Canada of course. He also brought up The Simpsons’ Apu, that has stereotyped Indians across the globe.

In his politically unafraid segment, Vir also managed to slip in the fact that Africa has 30% of the world’s natural resources and he also said, “Black people may or may not be attending the Oscars but they will be manufacturing them.” This statement got a strong reaction from Conan’s audience.

Vir Das is popular across the world as a comedian but he is also an actor and a musician. Vir was recently seen in the film 31st October, where he played the character of a Sikh man suffering through the aftermath of Indira Gandhi’s assassination. This role was drastically different from the work that Vir has done till date.

With Abroad Understanding, Vir Das became the first Indian comedian to get a Netflix special. Since then, Aditi Mittal has also gotten a Netflix special as well. Vir is currently developing his own comedy series with streaming platform Hulu.

Vir was truly hilarious here.
