The Indian Army put out some statistics on Friday which revealed that there were around 80 terrorists that were killed in the Kashmir Valley in the past six months.

What is more important is that in this very high death toll, most of them killed were top commanders. Currently there are around 115 terrorists remaining in the Valley of which only 15 are from Pakistan.
Army sources tell OneIndia that the strategy was to take down the foreign terrorists and the top commanders first. Most of the A++ terrorists have been knocked down and this is a very good sign.
Those who remain are foot soldiers and in the absence of their top bosses to guide them, they are comparatively less lethal. The source also said that taking down the local terrorists are easier when compared to the ones from Pakistan.
Laying a surveillance on a local terrorist is easier since they are well known to the locals. Their hideouts get busted easily when compared to the ones from Pakistan. Moreover the local terrorists are also more likely to surrender when compared to their counterparts from Pakistan, the officer also added.
