Rachakonda Police Commissioner Mahesh M. Bhagwat on Saturday attached Saroor Nagar inspector S. Lingaiah to the commissionerate after a controversial video of the latter went viral. The video clip, alleged to be of Lingaiah getting a massage from a home guard at his LB Nagar residence, had sparked outrage.
The commissioner also directed Prakash Reddy, DCP (Admin), to probe the matter and submit a report. The blurry video shows a barely clothed person purported to be Lingaiah sitting on a chair as a home guard massages his back with oil. A senior cop, however, said the true identity of the man was still unclear. “We are not sure whether the person is Lingaiah. Many a time, videos shot in other states go viral here. An inquiry into the case will be initiated on Monday,” he said.
Meanwhile, Lingaiah, in another video, has said it’s not him in the video. “People who want to defame me have created this video,” he said.
