Ittefaq, Thor: Ragnarok box-office collection — Sidharth, Sonakshi, Akshaye starrer mints Rs 4 cr
This week, Bollywood's Ittefaq and Hollywood's Thor: Ragnarok clashed at the box-office. Sidharth Malhotra-Sonakshi Sinha-Akshaye Khanna starrer Ittefaq is a crime thriller while Marvel's Thor: Ragnarok is a signature superhero flick.
Hence, since they are from two completely different genres, both the films enjoyed a decent start on the opening day.
Noted trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted and revealed the day 1 box-office collection of the two films:

Thor: Ragnarok is the third offering from Marvel's Thor franchise after Thor (2011) and Thor: The Dark World (2013). The new film stars Chris Hemsworth, Cate Blanchett, Tom Hiddleston, Anthony Hopkins, Idris Elba and Jeff Goldblum. In addition to that, the film also marks appearances of other Avengers like The Hulk (played by Mark Ruffalo) and Dr Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch). The film is directed by Taika Waititi, who also plays a part in the film.
Ittefaq is the modern remake of the 1969 Yash Chopra directorial, of the same name, that starred Rajesh Khanna and Nanda in the lead roles. It was produced by BR Chopra, whose grandson Abhay Chopra dons the director's hat in the new film. The story of Ittefaq (2017 film) revolves around one murder, two suspects and their two versions of the crime.
While the new releases are going strong or at least expected to make a mark as the week progresses, the Rohit Shetty directed Golmaal Again is raking in moolah at the box-office after its Diwali release. The fourth installment of the popular Golmaal franchise is a horror-comedy and stars Ajay Devgn, Tabu, Parineeti Chopra, Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor, Kunal Kemmu, Shreyas Talpade and Neil Nitin Mukesh.
