Rajkot: Two robbers who used to loot labourers, especially those who have come from outside the state around ceramic factories in Thangadh, were arrested from Navagam Road in Thangadh on Friday night.
Police produced the accused duo — Mukesh Gogiya (25), a resident of Ambedkarnagar near Vitco Pottery in Thangadh, and Kamlesh Gogiya (27), a resident of Dalitvas near Vitco Pottery in Thangadh — before a court in Thangadh on Saturday, seeking 11 days remand for them. The court, however, sent them to six days remand.
"Following a tip-off about their movement near Navagam Road, we kept a watch and nabbed them. We recovered 10 cellphones, a wrist watch and cash, all worth Rs 46,625 from them. They confessed that they had robbed these valuables from the labourers," an official from Thangadh police station said.
Police also recovered two knives from the accused duo with which they used to rob their victims.
"We intend to call all those who have fallen victims to robbery by the accused duo at the police station and make the duo stand in an identification parade," the official added.
