Addressing a rally in Kangra in poll-bound Himachal Pradesh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the Congress party's mindset was as harmful to Indian democracy as a termite is to the wood it comes in contact with.  

And since this mindset, as Modi alleged, ran down 3-4 generations into the Congress, it was important that such a party to be uprooted from power. Modi said, "At every polling booth, Congress should be wiped out as it is like a termite, which is eating away India."

Hailing the women who had come to listen to him, he said, "Himachal Pradesh is the land of gods and deities. Himachal is the land of brave mothers, who send their sons to defend the country's borders."
