BENGALURU: Home Minister Ramalinga Reddy took police officials to task over the state of police stations after he conducted a surprise inspection at some of them here on Friday. He pulled up inspectors for not maintaining cleanliness on the station premises and for not ensuring clean toilets for the staff.
Reddy, accompanied by Commissioner of Police

T Suneel Kumar, visited stations in the Central and East divisions and also inspected whether CCTVs in the localities were working. He was unhappy to see the files kept in a disorderly state and dust covering them at places. Complaint boxes were missing at some stations, and he asked the cops to get them installed. Reddy also checked if the registers were properly maintained.

Reddy also suggested police officials not to park the seized vehicles in front of the stations. He asked police personnel to respond properly to citizens who approached them with complaints, and ordered them to take strict action against eve-teasers in the vicinity of colleges. He told them to try to control incidents of chain snatching, and asked them to be more strict while dealing with crime. The inspection was not just about finding faults. Reddy also enquired with police personnel, including female officers, if they had any grievances.
